kraftwerk’s autobahn is a fun listen. friendly vocals introduce the album with a pleasant arrangement of synths, fun melodies, and a simple but effective drum beat. the first track is really catchy with both tonal and vocal repetitions that get stuck in my head often. the second track introduces frequency modulation and is more ambient in nature with minimal drums and drones. the third track makes me feel like i am a child at a fair riding a roller coaster for the first time. it is hopeful, elegant, playful, and charming. the fourth track, mitternacht, is creepy and illustrious. it makes me feel as if i am a secret agent sneaking through an abandoned factory looking for clues. the final track is tonally engaging and stimulating. it is very folky and the tune is catchy. it almost feels as if it is a lullaby. like the whole track was the experience of a day and this is me getting put to bed. overall, this album is a must listen if you are a fan of electronic music. kraftwerk’s contributions to the genre have defined them as a staple electronic group.
